Mauritius, formerly Ile de France, is an island in the Indian Ocean and is one of the Maskaren Archipelago. This paradise island is located east of Madagascar, just over 3000 km of the east coast of Africa. The island is formed by a volcano and covers an area of 1800 km2. It is a volcanic island that has many species, vegetation, mountain ranges, extinct volcanoes and also has many sugar cane plantations. The coast of Mauritius has a lot of white sandy beaches, lagoons and coral reefs. All these different items make Mauritius a wonderful island where you can relax and enjoy the peace and nature, but there are also plenty of leisure options.

Mauritius offers numerous recreational facilities

Besides the exotic beauty of the island, Mauritius offers numerous recreational facilities. There are organized excursions and on your own it is easy to explore the island.
