Slideshow

Botswana serves both the landscape and the wildlife enthusiast. The variation in regions show a continuously alternating picture and should be a start for your special activities.

Botswana is a challenge for humans and animals

Botswana is, because of its drought and rainy seasons, a challenge for humans and animals. The extremes let you find a completely different country in some areas each year: watch how the salt pans landscape of Nxai change during the rainy season. The green pops out, the birds flock to drink from the water. Take up the challenge with a Land Rover and canoe in the Okavango Delta to explore it. In dry areas, a safari alone  is an adventure because the landscape. Riding on a quad through the salt marshes along the edge of the desert is truly a special experience.

Nearly 70% of the country is covered by Kalahari sand. The Kalahari Desert is not a constantly dry, barren desert. Thanks to abundant, but absolutely unpredictable rainfall there is quite some vegetation. The soil contains no water on the surface so that only the strong flora and fauna survive.

The Okavango Delta in Botswana

Also spectacular in Botswana is the Okavango Delta. As the largest delta on the continent it is the habitat for many species of wildlife and birds. You see beautiful colours and even with your eyes closed the wetland area full with islands is a great experience. The reeds and the trees hide the game and numerous bird species. They however, continually make themselves heard: mating calls, honking, flapping, wrangling, screaming, squealing. In the vast amounts of water you will encounter old friends from the zoo such as otters, pelicans, crocodiles, hippos and fish eagles. In the wild, you can see how they live together in this beautiful setting.
The night in the delta is never quiet. Then in your comfortable lodge the fireplace lights up, the lanterns and candles become lit and after a three-course meal a hot tub is a nice conclusion of your game drive or walking safari.
