Mozambique

Mozambique is a large, elongated country in south-eastern Africa with a coastline of almost 2500 km in length. Therefore, there are beautiful white sand beaches and idyllic islands where you can enjoy sun, sea, beach and water sports.

Mozambique is, besides a few places, not yet discovered by mass tourism, making it an ideal destination for a relaxing holiday on the beach. Besides many water sports such as kayaking, sailing and snorkelling, it is an excellent place to dive under water. Here you will find coral reefs which are barely affected and populated by countless colourful fish. Almost the entire year barracuda, sea turtles, dolphins and manta rays can be observed.
And do not worry if you have no diving experience or have not dived in a while: there are many good diving schools and diving refresher courses.

In 1498 Vasco da Gama discovered Mozambique en route to India. Shortly thereafter it became a Portuguese colony. On June 25, 1975 it was proclaimed the independent Republic of Mozambique.
Today the economy is growing steadily in Mozambique. Agriculture is by far the main source (80%) of income and employment. One problem is the lack of infrastructure and taxation. This results in government revenues being lower, and so less can be improved in the country.
