Durban

Durban is a large an exotic port. Central Durban is very interesting with its beautiful buildings. You have to be in the harbour areas for the best fish restaurants.

There is a beautiful sub tropic climate and the city lies directly on the beaches 0f the Indian Ocean. In Durban, there are actually several attractions that you should not miss. The most important are: the Japanese Gardens in Stamford Hill, the snake park at the beginning of the Lower Marine Parade, the botanical gardens in Greyville, uShaka Marine World south of the Marine Parade, the African Art Centre, the City Hall and Art Gallery of Durban, all close by together. 

Durban is the most important holiday place on the coast of KwaZulu-Natal and the gateway to this province.  The promenade which is encircled by palm trees is a subtropical metropolis full of holiday fun, with restaurants and hotels, and is known as the "Golden Mile." Surfing is the main activity here, while other entertainment includes sailing, fishing and beach volleyball. On the promenade,  Zulu crafts are sold. 

Sea World Centre is on the beach. Here, you will find a pool with sharks. The sharks are fed on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday at 12:30 pm. The other fish are fed daily in the tank by a diver who gives food to the fish. There are also demonstrations with dolphins and seals. The east coast of South Africa (around Durban) is one of the most impressive dive sites in the world, particularly by the amount of big fish.
