Grootbos has two 5-star luxury lodges and an exclusive villa, and it offers an ideal retreat for travellers seeking luxury accommodations in the area around Hermanus and Gansbaai.

The Grootbos Nature Reserve is situated on the hills of Walker Bay in one of the largest Milkwood forests of the Western Cape, and offers views over the Atlantic Ocean and Cape of Good Hope. It has a special biodiversity with more than 700 plants.

The Grootbos Villa is modernly furnished and features a living room and dining room, diversed bedrooms and bathrooms, fully equipped kitchen, office with Internet and telephone, fitness room, air-conditioning, floor heating, fireplace, mini-bar, entertainment room with television and a wooden deck with pool. You have a private butler, chef and guide during your stay. You have a fantastic view over the ‘Fynbos’ and the bay from your suite.
In the wine cellar you will find carefully selected wines from the best wine regions of South Africa to suit your liking.
The meals are prepared with vegetables and herbs freshly grown on site, accompanied by daily fresh fish, seafood and the best meat from the region.

The villa is only available for exclusive use (up to 12 people).

Activities

Activities that are included are: horseback riding, guided hikes, amongst others, to De Kelders-cliff, excursion to the Walker Bay Nature Reserve, to the Klipgat Cave combined with whale watching from the coast (in season), and transfers to and from all activities.
A boat trip to look for whales in the bay is possible.
