Mount Meru

Mount Meru with its 4566 meters is the third highest mountain in Tanzania and the fifth highest mountain in Africa.

When you walk on the slopes of Mount Meru, start your tour through the Arusha National Park, then drive through the tropical rainforest at the foot of Mt. Meru. Here you will find a large variety of tropical birds and monkeys. After this the rocky paths begin, some are well walkable, while with others you must do your best to get up. During the walk you have stunning views of lakes and savannas, where large groups of zebras, wildebeests, elephants and giraffes are grazing. Furthermore you can also enjoy views of Mt. Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa.

You can also participate in climbing the mountain. Three-and four-day climbs are organized, where you sleep in various cabins on the way up. Experience is not necessary, but you definitely need a good condition!
