Old Traders Lodge
The charming Old Traders Lodge is situated in Erindi Private Game Reserve, in the triangle between Okahandja, Otjiwarongo and Omaruru.
It features 35 luxury rooms all overlooking a waterhole, so you can always see the wild animals. All rooms have air conditioning, bathroom with bath and shower, safe, TV, hairdryer, refrigerator, coffee and tea facilities. Two rooms are available for disabled people.
During the hot days, you can relax by the pool or observe the animals that come by for a drink at the waterhole.
When you go on a game drive with one of the experienced guides of the Old Traders Lodge, you can encounter, amongst others, lions, elephants, rhinos and many more.
They know the reserve from inside out and make you feel part of the beautiful surrounding area. They can also answer any questions about the area. Don't forget your camera!
Erindi Private Game Reserve
Erindi is situated on a high vast plain (71,000 hectares) where many different species of wildlife live, including other endangered species. Erindi means "place of water" in the local Herero language. The area includes mountains, savannas and open grasslands. As you go with experienced guides on a game drive, you can encounter many wild animals, such as lions, elephants, rhinos, wild dogs and many more. These guides can tell you much about the landscape and the animals in this area.
Erindi Game Reserve and the Global Leopard Project cooperate since 2007 in catching leopards, and attach special colours with a transmitter to them. By means of these transmitters, the behaviour of the leopard is researched. With some luck, you can even see a leopard up-close during a game drive...
