Chongwe River Camp

Chongwe River Camp, Lower Zambezi, Zambia

The pleasant Chongwe River Camp is probably the best location of all camps in and around the Lower Zambezi National Park. The camp is located on the corner between the Zambezi River and the Chongwe River.

The Chongwe River Camp has several luxury safari tents. Each tent has a view overlooking the river, a private veranda and a spacious en-suite bathroom in the open air, equipped with a toilet, washbasin and shower.
This camp offers its guests a bar and veranda with a plunge pool where you can enjoy a drink and never be kept waiting long to see animals and/or birds. After a delicious dinner, you can go around the campfire and chat about the experiences of the day.

In the morning you can see the sun come up from out of your safari tent and enjoy the warmth of the early sun rays from your terrace. In the middle of the day or in the evening you can opt out for a game drive, a walking safari, boat trip or a canoe trip, all of course under the guidance of an experienced guide. You can also go fishing, amongst others, you can fish for "tiger fish."

Since the camp is not fenced, we advise you to be alert of wild animals that can walk freely throughout the camp.
