Madagascar

A colourful journey to paradise

A paradise island with flamboyant colours, Madagascar offers you a range of landscapes, each more incredible than the last. White sand beaches, sandy desert or tropical forests, a breathtaking spectacle awaits you!

The fauna and flora of Madagascar are outstanding riches. They are considered by every scientist as being a nature sanctuary as well as the cradle of endemic species of the island. You will discover unique species in the world with nearly 7 types of baobabs, 19 000 plant species, and more than 100.000 different types of species of fauna. This exceptional originality is specifically due to its isolated location in the middle of the Indian Ocean.

A major reason for many travellers to visit Madagascar is beautiful rainforests that are home to several species of lemurs (lemurs), such as the indri, the largest of all lemurs. Other well-known animal species found here include chameleons, brightly coloured frogs and birds.

Another reason to visit the island is the striking baobab trees. This distinctive symbol of Madagascar can be found in various parts of the island. One of the best places is the Allee des Baobabs in western Madagascar. There are dozens of baobab trees along the road, which is a beautiful sight, especially during sunset.

Next to the exploration of the exceptional variety of wildlife, there is a wide range of activities you can do on Madagascar: hiking, trekking, canyoning, fishing, diving, (wind)surfing, kitesurfing etc.

Madagascar is fascinating due to its biodiversity but also by its cosmopolitan culture, with origins from both Asia and Africa. “The Great Island” will not fail to amaze you, and its welcoming and friendly people will accompany you into discovering its island through tradition and the know-how of its culture.
