Kyrgyzstan

Land of Celestial Mountains

Kyrgyzstan, located in remote Central Asia, is an extremely peaceful country where you can find the perfect balance between remoteness, authenticity and a relatively developed tourist infrastructure. From high altitude alpine lakes to velvet, green hills; 7,000-meter high snow-covered peaks and huge, wide valleys with plenty of wildflowers, Kyrgyzstan has some of the most striking landscapes you have ever seen.

The Pamir region offers wonderful opportunities to immerse yourself into the magnificent nature and engage with local cultures and people. You can travel this region or continue on along the epic Pamir Highway into Tajikistan.

The current territory of Kyrgyzstan served as the main bridge on the giant trade route connecting the East and West. Some routes are still used in the country as highways. By visiting the historical sites along the route of the Great Silk Road, you can delve into the past and feel the spirit of antiquity and the middle ages.

The Kyrgyz have been traditionally nomadic people up until the second quarter of the 20th century. Today Kyrgyzstan is one of the few countries where a certain part of the population still practices a semi-nomadic lifestyle. This culture is not only unique but also very accessible, since in each and every one of those camps, you will be more than welcome to visit their yurt and also to observe and even help with their daily tasks, such as milking their cows or making butter.

Pristine valleys, crystal clear mountain lakes, powerful mountain rivers, rich flora and fauna, nomadic Kyrgyz, the epic Pamir Highway: go discover Kyrgyzstan!
