Mauritius East
The east coast of Mauritius stretches approximately from Grand Gaube to Mahébourg. Cliffs and small bays are alternated with long stretches of sandy white beaches as at Belle Mare and Trou d’Eau Douce.
The coast is protected against the waves from the trade winds by a coral reef. The emerald green lagoon between coast and the reef is home to various small islands of which het Ile aux Cerfs is probably the best known. This jewel, which is the setting for a Bounty advertisement, is without a doubt home to the most beautiful beach of Mauritius. It is the perfect place to snorkel, take part in water sports or enjoy a round of golf on one of the two 18-hole golf courses in Belle Mare.
