Royal Tree Lodge
This intimate lodge (previously known as Motsentsela Tree Lodge) lies right outside of Maun on a 200 hectare farm and makes for a fine base for a visit to the Okavango Delta.
During your stay you will experience the 'game viewing' atmosphere. This is because of the location and the style of the 7 luxurious safari tents, each built on a wooden floor with its own bathroom and outside shower, in the middle of the beautiful nature. Pathways have been laid oud, such that you can explore the environment by foot.
For guests who spend more than one night, there are many activities to choose from: horseback riding, guided hikes etc.
Wildlife
In the course of the years, this game farm has attempted to re-introduce several animals that used to live here, amongst which the giraffe, zebra, kudu and springbok. The game farm is a refuge for many birds that enjoy the quietness and vegetation. Although the farm only measures 200 hectares, there are still four different habitats to be found. From the river you can see the swamp area, a mixed forest, an acacia plains and a piece of savannah. These four zones make for a rich variety of birds.
