Mauritius North
The northern part of Mauritius stretches from Grand Gaube in the east to Port Louis in the west with Mauritius’ tourist capital of Grand Baie in the middle.
Grand Gaube is a charming fishermen’s’ village. Grand Baie has undergone a metamorphosis from a small village to a bustling tourist centre with a number of shops, restaurants and bars that are open until late.
Once out of Grand Baie, you leave the vibrant ‘city’ atmosphere behind for the unspoilt beaches along Pointe aux Biches and Pointe aux Piments. During winter these beaches are the warmest on the island as they are protected from the south western trade winds. This area is also ideal for a variety of excursions and/or (water)sport activities.
