Andasibe National Park
The Parc National d'Andasibe-Mantadia is located in the beautiful tropical rainforest and varies in altitude from 900 to 1250 meters.
The park has not yet been affected by tourism and here you can see nature at its best. Because it is a tropical rainforest, it rains here 210 days a year; yet the paths in the park remain easily accessible. Here you will mainly find the largest lemur (lemur) species, the Indri Indri. It lives here in a dense green environment and the screaming sounds can mainly be heard early in the morning and in the afternoon.
You will also find more species of lemurs, chameleons, prosimians, rosewood trees, lianas, frogs and a large bird population here.
Vakôna Forest Private Reserve
The Vakona Reserve is a private reserve, located approximately 6 km from the village of Andasibe. A small park where the lemurs are partly tame, so they can be approached up close. You can take a canoe to Lemur Island, which protects a number of native lemurs. There are four species to see: the bamboo lemur, the black and white ruffed lemur, brown lemur and the famous Sifaka, the dancing lemurs of Madagascar.
