Mwagusi
Mwagusi Camp is without doubt one of the best safari camps in Ruaha National Park. This rustic lodge is located in the most wildlife-rich location of the park. Mwagusi is renowned for its personal atmosphere and very professional guides, amongst others.
Mwagusi is located on the shores of the Mwagusi Sand River in the Ruaha National Park. The 10 traditional, comfortable bandas (a safari tent is set up in the banda) with thatched roof overlook the dried up river bed where all sorts of animals come in search of water. The tents are very spacious and are surrounded by traditional walls. The tent has a very spacious bathroom. The bandas are standing on a wooden deck and lie distant from one another to ensure your privacy.
From a comfortable chair on your veranda or from the restaurant it is often possible to view impala's, boars and pheasants in the dry riverbeds. At night the elephants and hippos pass by and use the riverbed as a route through the park.
Owner Chris Fox is one of the leading tour guides in East Africa and knows the environment inside out.
