Rhino Plains Camp

In Plains Camp you can feel like a real explorer when you spend the night in a luxurious tent. It is situated in a large private nature reserve, bordering the southern part of the Kruger Park, nearby the Rhino Post Safari Lodge.
The small scale Plains Camp (maximum of 8 guests) serves as a base for adventurous hiking safaris, under supervision of experienced rangers. Of course you can also do game drives in an open Land Cruiser. The lodge is built in pioneer style of the 19th century with a diner, lounge, open campfire and a swimming pol. The 4 large and comfortable safari tents stand on top of wooden platforms. The tents each have their own bathroom, a ventilator, electrical lights and an extra shed.
Plains Camp lies on an approximately 30 minute drive from the Rhino Post Safari Lodge, or a 3 hour hiking safari.
Sleep Outs
This is the only place in the Kruger Park where you can find such a special accommodation. Equipped with merely a small, lightweight backpack you leave Plains Camp at the end of the day and you arrive at the Sleep Outs by evening.
These tents are constructed of window screens and stand on top of elevated wooden platforms. The stay itself is basic, but it is a wonderful experience to sleep here beneath the stars!. From the platforms you overlook a waterhole. Dinner is prepared on an open fire. The only sounds guests can here are the stumbling of a passing elephant or the roaring of a nearby lion. Obviously the camp will be guarded by the guides during the night.
The next morning, after a light snack, you will head back to Plains Camp for a delicious brunch.
NOTICE! Spending the night in the Sleep Outs can only be done during good weather.
