Okonjima Plains Camp
Okonjima is about three hours drive north of Windhoek, between Okahandja and Otjiwarongo, in a private reserve near Waterberg.
The Plains Camp was originally the farm from the Hanssen family and in 1992 it was converted to a lodge.
- Garden Room: within the original homestead garden overlooking the lapa
- Standard Room: with a small veranda overlooking the grass plains
- View Room: spacious room with a large veranda overlooking the grass plains
Africat Foundation
Okonjima is home to the Africat Foundation. This foundation ensures the welfare of several cats, including those of the leopard and cheetah.
As a guest of the lodge, you can experience one thing or another up-close. There are amongst others, organised hiking and mountain bike trips Birds and animals (nocturnal) can be observed from an observation post.
