Steenberg Hotel

The buildings (now a National Monument) date back from 1682 and are entirely restored. The hotel has 21 en-suite rooms with air-conditioning, housed in various buildings, and 3 spacious Heritage Suites: The Cape Colonial, The Khoi Khoi, and the Dutch East India.

Each room is furnished with antiques and overlooks either the vineyards, the 18-hole golf course or the beautifully landscaped gardens. You can also make use of two beautiful swimming pools, a fitness center and steam room.

Vineyards

Steenberg is the oldest vineyard in Constania Valley, known as the best wine area of South-Africa. The first wines were produced here in 1695. The farm used to be called Swaaneweide or Meadow Swan, and was later renamed Steenberg, situated adjacent the majestic mountain. It is the most southern situated vineyard in the region, making it an optimal benefit from the coolness effects of the nearby False Bay.
Since 1990, approximately 68 ha have been planted mostly with Sauvignon Blanc, as well as Chardonnay, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Shiraz and Nebbiolo. Bottled wines are stored in wine cellars under ideal conditions, where they are waiting to be enjoyed...

Culinary

Catharina’s restaurant has a warm ambient atmosphere with a fantastic view over False Bay, the surrounding Steenberg Mountains and vineyards. The decor is contemporary with African influences, all custom-made with local materials. The inventive and talented chef Garth Almazan brings contemporary South African cuisines to the menu.
Catharina’s wine list has interesting selections of 100 fine wines that South Africa can offer. The combination with its award-winning cuisine and superb wine list, make the dining experience one to be remembered.

An innovative and interactive wine and food destination, the Bistro sits adjacent to Steenberg's winery, and spills into its surrounding indigenous gardens with a terraced dining area leading to reflective water features, unfurling into views of the magnificent stone mountains and expansive winelands.
The Bistro Sixteen82 menu is a constant evolution, keeping up with seasonal produce and featuring inventive dishes that compliment the finest locally sourced ingredients.
