Western Cape

Flanked by the Indian and Atlantic Oceans, the Western Cape province boasts nearly 1,000 km of unspoilt beaches, incredible scenery and a temperate climate year-round. An exclusive tour with BMS-Travellers in South Africa will make your holiday an unforgettable experience.

The Western Cape is the home of an interesting cultural community, the descendants of the indigenous Khoikhoi, the proud Xhosa and people from Europe and the Far East, who long ago established themselves here. The tapestry of cultural diversity is evident in the variety of cuisines, architecture, art and crafts, museums and historic sites. In particular, the Cape Muslims have a unique magic, which can be seen in their particular kind of musical entertainment.

The fourth largest province in South Africa is blessed with an incomparable botanical splendour and is also lovingly called the Fairest Cape (Fairest Cape). After the annual rain between August and October, the arid areas of the province are covered with a breathtaking carpet of flowers.

Cape town, with Table Mountain in the background, is one of the world's most beautiful cities. From here you can take trips to the Winelands, with their houses in Cape Dutch style. You can follow wine routes and there are plenty of excellent crops which can be enjoyed.

The Western Cape is also proud of its many beautiful beaches and attractive fishing villages on the West Coast just like the beautiful shores of the famous Garden Route. Inland, the Little Karoo is characterized by wide open spaces, rolling hills and enormous ostrich farms.

Numerous Southern right whales and Bryde's whales regularly visit the coastal waters between June and November.
